Who Is This For?

The Remote Robot Lab is built for anyone who wants hands-on time with real industrial hardware — without the cost, space, or safety overhead of owning one.

  • Robotics students
  • Automation engineers
  • Software developers
  • AI / ML researchers
  • Startups & educators

What You Can Do in the Remote Robot Lab

Diagram: your laptop sends RAPID, Python, EGM and RWS commands to the robot, which streams back video, point cloud, joint positions and status

Program a real robot

Write and run RAPID and Python code on a physical ABB IRB1300 — no simulator stand-ins.

Control it remotely

Jog the robot, run trajectories, and command motion live from your browser.

See what it sees

Stream live camera feeds and trajectory data while your code executes.

Learn by doing

Experiment safely in a fully supervised, sandboxed environment built for exploration.

How It Works

About the Robot

The lab is built around an ABB IRB1300 — a compact, high-performance industrial robot trusted across manufacturing for its speed and precision. It's outfitted with end-of-arm tooling and a camera system so you can take on real pick-and-place and motion tasks.

End-of-Arm Tooling (Gripper)

A versatile gripper lets you manipulate objects, enabling hands-on pick-and-place and assembly-style exercises.

How We Ensure Safety

Every session runs in a supervised, sandboxed environment with motion limits, monitored camera feeds, and safeguards that keep both the hardware and your experiments safe.
